EMTA Thanks Its Riders with a Week of Contests, Giveaways & Fare-Free Day
Erie, PA. – The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority will be thanking its passengers for riding its bus system during the Third Annual Rider Appreciation Days May 6th – 9th. Rider Appreciation Days is a statewide initiative developed in coordination with the Pennsylvania Public Transportation Agency (PPTA) and transit agencies across the Commonwealth. EMTA will be offering customers a complimentary ride on Wednesday as a show of appreciation for their continued ridership.
“The EMTA is excited to celebrate Rider Appreciation Days,” says EMTA CEO, Jeremy Peterson. “We want to take this opportunity to thank all of our riders across fixed route and paratransit to show that the EMTA is here for our community. EMTA is proud to be one of the many agencies celebrating our passengers across the state during Rider Appreciation Days.” Transit is an essential part of Pennsylvania’s economic success.
Transit riders across the state utilize services to get to work, school, healthcare, recreation and more. Rider Appreciation Days recognizes their strong commitment to transit as their preferred mode of transportation.
Transit agencies across the Commonwealth have different schedules for the week; EMTA will be promoting the events below:
Tuesday, May 6th: Facebook Photo Contest. Submit a photo of you on an EMTA bus on Facebook for a chance to win a pair of Erie SeaWolves tickets.
Wednesday, May 7th: FREE FARE DAY for fixed route.
Thursday, May 8th Rider Giveaways on select fixed routes by EMTA staff from 10AM to 2PM.
Friday May 9th: Coffee & Donuts at the Intermodal Transportation Center from 9-10AM & announce winners of Facebook Photo Contest.
