EMTA WINTER GOODS DRIVE BENEFITING U.S. COMMITTEE FOR REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS
Erie, PA- The Erie Metropolitan Transportation Authority will be hosting its Second Annual Winter Goods Drive, this year benefiting the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants from January 28th through February 21st.
The EMTA is encouraging their employees and members of the community to donate useful winter items for the individuals and families to the United State Committee for Refugees and Immigrants services. Items such as coats, boots, blankets, snow shovels and bus passes are a few of the highly demanded items USCRI seeks during the winter months.
Additionally, those who donate items can enter to win a pair of Erie SeaWolves tickets to any April home game. 20 pairs of tickets will be drawn and given away at random to those who were entered through donations at the close of the drive. Individuals can be entered up to three times.
“As a community asset, the EMTA is in a position to help our community in more ways than just transportation, especially to those who may be experiencing an Erie winter for the first time,” says EMTA CEO, Jeremy Peterson. “We are hoping for participation, not only from our employees, but other folks in the community looking to extend a hand to those who are new to calling Erie home.”
Donations can be made at the EMTA administration office located at 127 East 14th Street, Monday through Friday from 8AM to 4:30PM. Be sure to leave contact information with staff in the lobby to be entered to win SeaWolves tickets at the time of donation. For a full list of donation needs, please visit ride-the-e.com.
