Erie, PA- The Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority is participating in the National Transit Employee Appreciation Day on Tuesday, March 18th and is asking the public to help them show their employees appreciation by submitting a digital ‘Thank You’ to share with their staff.

Those looking to show their gratitude to an individual, department or EMTA as a whole can find a link to submit a digital Thank You card at ride-the-e.com or on the EMTA’s Facebook page.

“Our staff shows up to work every day to serve the public,” says Jeremy Peterson, EMTA CEO. “Whether it is one of our many outstanding operators, maintenance crew or administrative staff, I couldn’t be more proud of how hard each and every one of them work. Without them, EMTA would not be the life sustaining service it is today.”

National Transit Employee Appreciation Day is a yearly celebration recognized by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) as a way to praise the contributions of transit workers and raise awareness for the importance of investing in public transportation infrastructure and the workforce behind it.

EMTA encourages anyone utilizing their services or interacting with an EMTA employee to show appreciation for their dedication to serving the Erie community.
